Several domains on the same website

A website can carry as many domains as you like. One of them is the main domain and serves the page; all the others redirect there permanently. That way your website stays a single one for search engines and isn’t split across several addresses. The domains can be bought from us or sit at another registrar — mixed works too.

How to add another one

In the «Domain» tab, under «Other domains». The process is the same as for the first: enter it, set the DNS, wait until it goes live. An additional domain needs its own DNS records pointing at us as well.

Which one is the main domain

The one you made into it. You can switch at any time as soon as the new one really serves the page — not before, or your website would be unreachable at that very moment. After the switch, the previous main domain redirects here.

Why the main domain can’t simply go

As long as other domains point at it, it stays. Otherwise the redirects would point into nothing. Detach the others first, or make one of them the main domain, and then it can go too.

Mail on the secondary domain

Common, and no problem: every domain has its own zone. See Managing DNS records yourself.
