Connecting Claude
In Claude the link is called a «connector». You add it once in the settings, sign in to MADLAB and allow access — from then on Claude can see your websites. The link belongs to your Claude account, not to the device: once it is set up, it applies in the browser, in the desktop app and on your phone.
Step by step
- Sign in to Claude and open the settings, section «Connectors». The «+» below the message box takes you there as well, via «Manage connectors».
- Choose «Add custom connector».
- Enter the address of our endpoint. You will find it in your account under «AI assistants»; it is the same for every customer.
- Claude sends you to MADLAB. Sign in — a page tells you what Claude will be allowed to reach. Confirm.
- Back in Claude, the connection appears in the list.
Switching the tools on in a conversation
This is the step people forget most often: a connector you have added is not yet active in every conversation. In the chat, click «+», hover over «Connectors» and switch MADLAB Publishing on. Without that, Claude will answer «publish my site» from memory instead of doing it.
What your plan allows
Claude's free plan allows exactly ONE custom connector. If another service already occupies that slot, you have to choose — a second one cannot be added. On the paid plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise) this limit does not apply.
In Team and Enterprise accounts the organisation decides. Custom connectors have to be enabled there by an owner first; until then the option does not even appear. The organisation can also restrict a connection to read-only. Claude can then look at your website but change nothing and publish nothing — the attempt ends in an error message that looks like a problem on our side and is not one.
What does not work
Input fields in the chat. We built a field that would let you upload images straight from the conversation; for self-hosted connectors, Claude currently does not render it. You get a link into the portal instead — see Uploading files. This is not a setting you can change, and it does not depend on your plan.
Disconnecting again
Two places, and they do different things. In Claude, under «Connectors», you remove the connection from your Claude account. With us, under «AI assistants» in your account, you withdraw the access — that takes effect immediately, even if an entry is still listed in Claude. If you want to be certain that nobody can reach your sites any more, use our route.
